FOX OUTSMARTS TIGER ©
Characters: Fox, Tiger, Rabbit, other animal puppets.
Props: A shoe box. Cut out colored paper in the shape of tall grass and trees. Glue these shapes on the top edge of one side of the shoe box. Roll up a brown paper bag to look like a log. Place the shoe box on your lap or on a table in front of you and the log in front of the shoe box. Place all the finger puppets, except Tiger, on the same hand; Fox on the thumb, Rabbit on the little finger. Place Tiger on pointer finger of the other hand.
NARRATOR: It’s spring. The animals are arguing about who can run the fastest. Some say Fox is the fastest. Others think Rabbit is the fastest. They decided to have a race to see which one would win. The race has begun. Let’s listen to see who’s winning.
ANIMALS: Go, Fox! Go! Go, Tiger! Go!
NARRATOR: The race had just started when Fox stopped and started yelling.
FOX: Ah, Oh, OUCH!
ANIMALS: What happened Fox? Why did you stop running? (Animals are gathered around Fox, looking at him as if listening to him talk.)
FOX: My foot! My foot! I think it’s broken. Oh, Oh! (Tiger enters, looking back and forth, trying to push his way through the animals.)
TIGER: Hey! What’s going on here?
ANIMAL 1: We were having a race.
ANIMAL 2: Rabbit and Fox were having a contest to see who’s the fastest.
ANIMAL 3: And Fox hurt his foot. (Fold down animals except fox.)
FOX: (Limping around slowly.) Oh, oh! My foot hurts.
TIGER: Ha, ha, ha. You’ve always been able to outrun me, but I’ll beat you this time. (Tiger runs around Fox and acts like he is going to grab him. Fox limps around trying to get away. Bring the other animals up and gather them around Fox to protect him from Tiger.)
TIGER: (Yells) Get out of my way! Who do you think you are? (Fold animals down except for Rabbit. Tiger grabs for Rabbit.)
TIGER: You silly rabbit. You’re going to be my next meal!
RABBIT: You’ll have to catch me first. (Runs off into the woods and disappears. Remove animals except Fox. Place animals in the shoe box. Bring up Fox.)
FOX: (Crying) Ow, Ow. My foot, my foot.
TIGER: Ha, ha, ha. You always thought you were so fast. How are you going to get away now? I’ll get you. (Starts after Fox.)
NARRATOR: Fox sees a log and limping faster he ducks into it. (Move Fox along the back side of the log so that the audience can’t see him.) . . .

Caracteres: El zorro, el tigre, el conejo, y otros titeres de animales.'
Apuntes: Una caja de zapatos con pedazos de papel de colores para representar la hierba alta, y árboles. Pegue estas formas en el borde superior de un lado de la caja de zapatos. Enrolle una hoja de papel de construcción café o una bolsa de papel café para que parezca un tronco. Pegue el tronco en la parte delantera de la caja. Ponga la caja encima de sus rodillas o en una mesa en frente de usted. Si solo una persona esta contando el cuento, ella debe de poner todos los títeres ménos el tigre en una mano. NARRADOR: Es primavera y todos los animales estaban aburridos. Algunos de los animales dijeron que el zorro corría más rápido que todos los animales en el bosque. ANIMALES: ¡Corre Zorro! ¡Corre!

ZORRO: ¡Ay, me duele!

ZORRO: (Cojeando alrededor lentamente.) Ay pobre de mi. Me duele mi pie.
TIGRE: Ja, ja, ja. Usted siempre podía correr más rápido que yo. Pero, esta vez le gano.
NARRADOR: El tigre corre alrededor del zorro y actúa como que él va a agarrarlo. El zorro cojea intentando escapar. (Traiga los otros animales para arriba y recoléctelos alrededor del zorro para protegerlo del tigre.)
TIGRE: (grita) ¡Muevanse, dejenme pasar! ¡Quiénes creen que son! (Doble los an imales abajo ménos al conejo. El tigre intenta agarrar al conejo.)

CONEJO: Usted tendrá que atraparme primero.
